Wang Qishan Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs Damdin Tsogtbaatar of Mongolia
2019-04-02 09:32

On April 1, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Damdin Tsogtbaatar of Mongolia at Zhongnanhai.

Wang Qishan noted that Mongolia was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. Over the past 70 years, friendship and cooperation have remained the mainstream of bilateral relations. President Xi Jinping's historic visit to Mongolia in 2014 opened up new prospects for the development of bilateral relations. In recent years, mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful results, benefiting the two peoples. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Mongolian side to well implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, jointly promote the building of the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and strengthen cultural exchanges and non-governmental contacts, so as to constantly push China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership for new progress.

Damdin Tsogtbaatar expressed that the sincere and friendly Mongolia-China relations can be considered as a model. China's rapid development and the Belt and Road Initiative have brought important opportunities to Mongolia. The Mongolian side recognizes the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and is willing to work with the Chinese side to take the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations as an opportunity to constantly elevate bilateral relations to higher levels.
