On March 29, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov of Kazakhstan in Zhongnanhai.

Hailing the profound friendship between Chinese and Kazakh people and solid political mutual trust, as well as strong strategic leadership of the two countries' leaders, Wang Qishan said that the two countries have achieved fruitful outcomes from practical cooperation in various fields and are at the forefront in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, with extensive consensus in regional and international affairs, serving as a model of good neighborliness and mutual benefit. The Chinese side respects the political system and development path chosen by the Kazakh people, and firmly believes that Kazakhstan will continuously maintain the good momentum of rapid development.
