Recently, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei met with Trinh Viet Hung, Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Vietnam. Ambassador He noted that as the picture of building a high-level China–Vietnam community with a shared future gradually unfolds, agricultural cooperation is increasingly becoming a new highlight of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes between the two sides. As Vietnam’s largest export destination for agricultural, forestry and aquatic products, China enjoys unique advantages of geographical proximity and complementary needs with Vietnam. He expressed the hope that the two sides will work together to jointly build new platforms such as the China–Vietnam Agricultural Products Cooperation Forum, actively explore new forms of cooperation including smart agriculture and green agriculture, and ensure that the fruits of bilateral agricultural cooperation bring even more benefits to the people of both countries. Trinh Viet Hung said that China is Vietnam’s most important agricultural trade partner, possessing rich experience in advancing agricultural production and scientific and technological progress. The Vietnamese side is ready to continuously enhance the competitiveness of green, premium, and specialty agricultural products, steadily expand agricultural trade with China, deepen cooperation with the Chinese side in areas such as agricultural science and technology, inspection and quarantine standardization, and cold-chain logistics, and contribute to the building of the Vietnam–China community with a shared future. |
