On August 13, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei met with Nguyen Hong Thai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

Ambassador He Wei noted that Bac Ninh, situated at the forefront of China–Vietnam connectivity and industrial and supply-chain cooperation, enjoys a unique location and immense potential in the practical cooperation between the two countries, and is increasingly becoming a key destination attracting Chinese investment. He expressed the hope that Bac Ninh will firmly seize the current favorable opportunity of building a higher-level China–Vietnam community with a shared future, study and introduce more trade and investment facilitation measures, work with the Chinese side to deliver a number of mutually beneficial benchmark projects, and continuously empower the high-quality development of China–Vietnam relations.

Nguyen Hong Thai said that, as an important part of the Hanoi economic circle and a cluster of northern high-tech industries, Bac Ninh is set to be elevated to a centrally administered municipality of Vietnam. It will draw on technological innovation and digital transformation as drivers to promote rapid economic growth, and stands ready to continue fostering the most favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises investing and operating locally, thereby setting an exemple of the Vietnam-China community with a shared future at the local level.

On the same day, Ambassador He Wei also held a discussion with representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises in Bac Ninh Province.
