Chinese Ambassador Visits Former Prime Minister of Vietnam
2026-08-08 22:50

On August 8, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei visited former Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh.

Ambassador He spoke highly of Pham Minh Chinh's active efforts in advancing comprehensive strategic cooperation between China and Vietnam during his tenure, noting that China and Vietnam are fellow travelers pursuing shared ideals, both entrusted with the historic mission of achieving modernization, and that building a community with a shared future of strategic significance is the only choice for the two countries to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. The two sides should continue to inherit and carry forward the traditional friendship forged by the elder generation of leaders and make China-Vietnam relations a model of good-neighborly friendship and win-win cooperation.

Pham Minh Chinh stated that China is the only country that encompasses all the priorities of Vietnam's foreign policy. The special geographical proximity of the two countries, connected by land and sea, and the shared choice of the socialist system, determine that prioritizing the development of relations with China has always been an objective need for Vietnam. Looking ahead, he expressed hope that both sides would carry forward the valuable asset of Vietnam-China good-neighborly friendship and inject lasting momentum into building a higher-level community with a shared future that carries strategic significance between the two countries.
