On August 7, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei visited former State President of Vietnam Luong Cuong.

Ambassador He Wei expressed appreciation for Luong Cuong's contributions to the development of China-Vietnam relations during his tenure, noting that every solid step forward in bilateral relations has been made possible by the political guidance and strategic planning of the top leaders of the two Parties and countries, as well as the continuous efforts of generations of visionary individuals from both sides. Under the new historical conditions, China is ready to join hands with Vietnam, take over and pass on the baton of good-neighborly friendship, and continuously enrich the    building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future with new contemporary connotations.

Luong Cuong stated that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China was  forged by the elder generation of leaders of the two countries and has continued to flourish in the great process of jointly advancing socialist construction. No matter how the world situation changes, "comrades and brothers" will always remain the defining feature of Vietnam-China relations. Facing new circumstances, both sides should look to the future, carry forward and pass on the traditional friendship between the two countries, and ensure that the revolutionary cause and good-neighborly friendship between Vietnam and China endure forever and are passed down from generation to generation.
