On July 24, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam held a reception celebrating the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army(PLA). Ambassador He Wei, Naval Attaché Senior Colonel Liu Zhuqing, and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, along with over 300 guests including representatives from the Vietnamese Party, government and military, diplomatic envoys and military attachés, attended the event.

In his address, Ambassador He Wei stated that the PLA fully implements the Xi Jinping’s Thought on Strengthening the Military, adheres to a defensive national defense policy, and fulfills its international responsibilities, serving as a steadfast force in safeguarding national interests and upholding world peace. At this new historical starting point, China stands ready to work with Vietnam to deepen military cooperation, jointly write a new chapter in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, and make new and greater contributions to world peace and development.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau extended warm congratulations on China's achievements in national defense and military development, and spoke highly of the sound momentum in exchanges between the two countries and two militaries. He expressed Vietnam's readiness to promote further development of bilateral military ties.

A photo exhibition themed "The Chinese Military: A Force for World Peace" was also held at the reception.
