On June 25, Chinese Ambassador He Wei met in Can Tho with Le Quang Tung, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Secretary of the Can Tho Municipal Party Committee. Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City was also present.

Ambassador He noted that Can Tho, located at the heart of the Mekong Delta and serving as a major agricultural production area, is a pioneer in China–Vietnam cooperation in agriculture and food industries. He expressed hope that Can Tho would seize the historic opportunity presented by the building of a higher-level China–Vietnam community with a shared future, and work to achieve new breakthroughs in cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, industrial and supply chains, and tourism—thus contributing to deeper and more substantive implementation of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.

Le Quang Tung stated that Can Tho attaches great importance to its friendly relations with Chinese provinces and cities. He said the city is willing to focus on agricultural trade, digital transformation, and humanresources training, further tapping high-quality cooperation opportunities with China, creating a favorable business environment, and contributing to local development and the building of the China–Vietnam community with a shared future.

On the same day, Ambassador He and his delegation also visited the Can Tho Vietnamese-Chinese School, agricultural enterprises, and cooperatives to learn about Chinese-language education, agricultural production, and the export of agricultural products to China.
