2026-06-11 22:10

On June 11, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei met with Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission.

Ambassador He Wei stated that China and Vietnam are fellow travelers on the path to modernization, both engaged in great socialist practices with their own characteristics, and both committed to pursuing high-quality development guided by new development concepts. This year marks the beginning of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and a new era of national rise for Vietnam. China is ready to work closely with Vietnam to deepen strategic alignment and exchanges of development experience, injecting lasting momentum into the building of a higher-level community with a shared future  that carries strategic significance between the two sides.

Nguyen Thanh Nghi responded that Vietnam has always placed developing relations with China as the top priority of its foreign policy, and deeply admires China’s achievements in rapid economic development and long-term social stability. Vietnam has set a goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045, and is building a new development model driven mainly by technological innovation and digital transformation. Vietnam hopes to learn from China’s valuable experience to promote the steady and sustained advancement of the common modernization cause of the two countries.
