Chinese Ambassador Meets with Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism
2026-05-07 22:10

On May 7, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei met with Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Ambassador He Wei noted that the successful state visit to China by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President of Vietnam, saw the top leaders of the two Parties and countries jointly announce the launch of the “China-Vietnam Tourism Cooperation Year,” drawing up a “roadmap” and pressing the “accelerator” for high-quality people-to-people exchanges between the two sides. He called on both sides to continue focusing on the strategic direction of building “a more solid public foundation,” fully leverage our geographical proximity and people-to-people affinity, develop more tourism products that appeal to the people of both countries, and transform the strong momentum of China-Vietnam relations into a “key to popularity” that fosters mutual understanding and affinity.

Minister Lam Thi Phuong Thanh responded that Vietnam attaches great importance to cooperation with China in the fields of culture, sports and tourism. She stated that Vietnam is ready to follow the direction set by the top leaders of the two Parties, provide better services and guarantees for Chinese tourists visiting Vietnam through the high-quality implementation of the “Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation Year,” and continuously forge a closer bond between our peoples.
