On April 6, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei paid a courtesy call on Phan Van Giang, Party Central Committee of Vietnam Central Committee and Minister of National Defense.
Ambassador He Wei stated that in recent years, the militaries of China and Vietnam have consistently followed the strategic consensus of the top leaders of the two Parties, focusing on the goal of “more substantial and deeper security cooperation” and carrying out all‑round cooperation, which has contributed to the launch of the world’s first “3+3” ministerial‑level strategic dialogue on diplomacy, defense and public security. Facing a complex and volatile external environment, the two militaries should continue to carry forward the revolutionary camaraderie forged through joint struggles, make good use of their unique advantage in building a political army, and work together along their respective paths to military modernization, so as to become a pillar of strength for the high‑level building of a China‑Vietnam community with a shared future.
Minister Phan Van Giang responded that the militaries of Vietnam and China share the sacred mission of safeguarding their respective socialist causes, and that military-to-military relations have always been an important pillar of bilateral relations. Under the new circumstances, the two sides should pursue more effective mutually beneficial cooperation and higher level strategic coordination to resolutely protect their national security, thereby injecting lasting momentum into the building of a Vietnam-China community with a shared future. |
