Chinese Ambassador Meets with Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam
2026-03-02 18:14

On February 26, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei met with Le Manh Hung, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam.

Ambassador He Wei stated that China-Vietnam cooperation has entered a promising period of important opportunities, with bilateral trade reaching new heights, Chinese investment in Vietnam continuously rising, and strategic infrastructure connectivity between the two sides making steady progress. Under the new circumstances, he expressed hope that both sides would deeply grasp the underlying logic of pursuing common development, leverage the distinctive advantages of their catch-up economic models, and continue to unleash the complementary potential of their industries and production capacities. This, he noted, would help better explore each other’s markets, mitigate external risks, and jointly continue to write the two miracles of rapid economic growth and enduring social stability.

Minister Le Manh Hung stated that high-level mutually beneficial cooperation with China is of vital importance to Vietnam’s own development. Vietnam is willing to work with China to follow the strategic consensus of the top leaders of the two Parties on achieving “deeper practical cooperation”, create new models and new forms of cooperation that align with the building of the two countries’ community with a shared future, and strengthen strategic connectivity through cross-border economic cooperation zones, bringing greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
