On February 6, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei visited former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nong Duc Manh.

Ambassador He extended his festive greetings and best wishes to Nong Duc Manh, and warmly congratulated him on the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He stated that under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties, China and Vietnam have been increasingly aligning their strategic and political consensus on advancing along the socialist path and building a high-level community with a shared future. The convergence of interests in exchanging governance experience continues to grow, and the space for high-level mutually beneficial cooperation keeps expanding. China is willing to work together with Vietnam to ensure the steady and enduring progress of bilateral relations during its "new highlight."

Nong Duc Manh responded that Vietnam and China are neighbors who cannot be moved away or separated from each other, and both are firmly committed to the socialist path. Consolidating and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries is an inevitable choice for both sides. He noted that Vietnam has embarked on a new era of national rise, while China has entered the beginning of its 15th Five-Year Plan period. He sincerely wished for the continuous advancement of both countries' modernization endeavors, each with its own characteristics, and expressed his hope that Vietnam-China friendship would endure and be passed down through generations.
