On January 16, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei held a reception in Hanoi celebrating the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. The event was attended by over 600 guests, including Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son, more than ten ministerial and provincial-level officials from Vietnamese Party, government, military, and public institutions, Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Tang Li, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Dong Biyou, members of the diplomatic corps in Vietnam, as well as representatives from Chinese institutions, media, and students in Vietnam.

In his speech, Ambassador He reviewed the remarkable journey of China-Vietnam relations over the past 76 years. He stated that solidarity, mutual assistance, and mutual success are the fine tradition of bilateral relations and an inevitable choice as both countries advance towards modernization. He noted that this year marks the beginning of China's 15th Five-Year Plan period and a new era of national rise for Vietnam. China stands ready to work with Vietnam to write new chapters in their respective development and rejuvenation through high-level efforts to build a community with a shared future.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son reaffirmed that developing relations with China remains a strategic choice and top priority for the Vietnamese Party and government. He stated that Vietnam will, in accordance with the consensus of the top leaders of the two Parties and the strategic direction of the "Six Mores", continue to enrich the building of the Vietnam-China community with a shared future with features of the new era.
