On December 12, Ambassador He Wei met with Nguyen Huy Tien, Procurator General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam.
Ambassador He noted that as China–Vietnam relations have entered a second “highlight moment”, exchanges and cooperation across various fields between the two countries have continued to deepen and deliver tangible results. As fellow travelers on the socialist path, building the system of socialist rule of law suited to their respective national conditions is not only an inevitable requirement for China and Vietnam to ensure long-term stability and governance of their respective Parties and states, but will also provide strong support for jointly deepening the building of a China–Vietnam community with a shared future. He expressed the hope that the prosecutorial authorities of the two countries would strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, and contribute greater legal strength to bilateral relations.
Nguyen Huy Tien said that the prosecutorial authorities of Vietnam and China play important roles in their respective systems of socialist rule of law and constitute an important component of the two countries’efforts to build a community with a shared future at high level. Vietnam attaches great importance to learning from China’s experience in areas such as public interest litigation by prosecutors, prosecutorial reform, and digital empowerment, and is willing to deepen cooperation with the Chinese side in areas including criminal judicial assistance, so as to better serve bilateral relations and modernization in both countries. |
