On December 6, Ambassador He Wei met with Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, as well as Ho Van Mười, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, in Lam Dong Province.

Ambassador He stated that the historic visit to Vietnam by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping in April this year had ushered the building of a China–Vietnam community with a shared future into a new stage, and that local cooperation, as an important component of bilateral relations, held great potential. He expressed the hope that Lam Dong Province would seize this valuable opportunity to strengthen strategic alignment with the Chinese side and achieve complementary advantages, focus on areas such as agriculture and tourism to jointly explore new development models and create new benchmarks of cooperation, and make greater contributions to local economic and social development and to improving people’s livelihoods.

The Vietnamese side noted that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China has a long history and that there is enormous potential for pragmatic cooperation in various fields. Lam Dong Province enjoys location advantages combining land and sea access, rich and diverse ethnic cultures, and distinctive resource endowments. They expressed the hope that more capable and reputable Chinese enterprises would invest and do business in the province, share opportunities, and pursue common development.
