On December 4, Ambassador He Wei met with Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and conveyed the Chinese government’s donation to Vietnam’s typhoon and flood-stricken areas.

Ambassador He once again extended his deep sympathies to the Vietnamese side and expressed his hope that the affected communities would overcome the difficulties at an early date. He noted that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China had made strategic arrangements to expand high-level opening up, which would provide new opportunities and inject fresh momentum into the high-level advancement of the China–Vietnam community with a shared future. He expressed the hope that the Vietnam Fatherland Front would play an active role and make greater contributions to enhancing bilateral relations, in particular to promoting closer people-to-people ties and greater mutual understanding between the two peoples.

On behalf of the Vietnamese side, Bui Thi Minh Hoai expressed appreciation for China’s goodwill, noting that it constituted strong support for Vietnam’s post-disaster recovery and demonstrated the profound friendship of mutual assistance between Vietnam and China. She said that the Vietnam Fatherland Front and various mass organizations were willing to work closely with the Chinese side, carry forward good-neighborliness and friendship, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties, so as to support the building of the community with a shared future between the two countries in a solid and concrete manner.
