2026-01-12 16:48

On August 20, Ambassador He Wei met with Duong Van Thanh, member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Ambassador He stated that both China and Vietnam are socialist countries led by the Communist Party, and that adhering to the principle of combining the basic tenets of Marxism with each country’s concrete realities and outstanding traditional culture is the key to the continuous development and success of the two countries’ shared undertakings. Under the new historical conditions, he expressed the hope that the Fatherland Front, as a pillar for consolidating national unity and a vanguard for promoting people-to-people exchanges, would work closely with the Chinese side, successfully organize the commemorative activities for the Year of People-to-People Exchanges, and continuously strengthen the public support for building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

Duong Van Thanh said that China and Vietnam are connected by mountains and rivers and share common ideals, which constitute an unparalleled special advantage in bilateral relations and the greatest common denominator for promoting the building of a community with a shared future. The Vietnam Fatherland Front will, following the direction set by the top leaders of the two Parties, focus on the goal of a stronger popular foundation and leverage high-quality people-to-people diplomacy to support the high-level development of China-Vietnam relations.
