2025-09-10 18:49

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei gave a joint interview with Chinese and Vietnamese media on Aug. 28, which centered on the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War and China’s top legislator Zhao Leji’s visit to Vietnam.

Ambassador He elaborated on China’s historic contributions to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, stressing that upholding a correct view of World War II history and safeguarding the post-war international order carries major historical and practical significance. He underlined that Taiwan's restoration to China is an outcome of the WWII victory and part and parcel of the postwar international order

Ambassador He gave a comprehensive interpretation of the significance of Zhao’s visit to Vietnam, noting that the frequent high-level exchanges between China and Vietnam around China’s V-Day (Sept. 3) commemorations demonstrate their firm support for each other’s important events. He said China and Vietnam will continue to deepen in-depth and all-round cooperation, enhance the effectiveness of practical cooperation, consolidate the foundation of good-neighborly friendship among the peoples, and push forward the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance in a steady and substantive manner.

Prior to the interview, the embassy held a photo exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
