Wang Yi: Trade between China and ASEAN Increases by Nearly 40 Percent in the First Half of 2021
2021-08-03 13:47

On August 3, 2021, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at the ASEAN-China Ministerial Meeting that the trade and investment cooperation between China and ASEAN is remarkable. We have overcome the impact of the pandemic, maintained "green lanes" for the flow of goods, and established "fast tracks" with many countries to facilitate the flow of people, maintaining the security, stability and unimpeded flow of regional industrial chains. The policy benefits of the upgraded Protocol of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area continue to be released. In the first half of this year, the bilateral trade exceeded 410 billion U.S. dollars, up 38.2 percent year on year. ASEAN continues to be China's largest trading partner, with the cumulative investment between the two sides exceeding 310 billion U.S. dollars, making both sides lead the way in this aspect.
