On June 23, 2021, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi presided over the Asia and Pacific High-level Conference on Belt and Road Cooperation.

Wang Yi said in his concluding remarks that today, we had discussions on building Belt and Road partnership, working together to overcome the pandemic and promoting sustainable economic recovery. The meeting reached a six-point consensus:

First, we all speak highly of the progress made in international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). We look forward to building a closer partnership that synergizes the BRI with the development strategies and plans of all parties, and takes the road of solidarity and cooperation, connectivity and common development, so as to build a better future.

Second, we believe that the pandemic is the most pressing challenge at present, and the international community must work together to overcome the difficulties. We are convinced that the world is not safe until every country has eliminated the pandemic. Only when all countries and regions overcome the pandemic can the world emerge from the shadow of the pandemic.

Third, we expect to further step up international cooperation on vaccines, and promote the fair international distribution of vaccines, as a global public good, in countries around the world. We oppose vaccine nationalism and support the efforts of the United Nations system to promote global immunization and improve the availability and affordability of vaccines around the globe, especially in developing countries.

Fourth, we all believe that the post-COVID recovery of the world economy should be green and sustainable. The international cooperation under BRI should put green development in a more prominent position, make the construction of a green silk road a priority task, and create more cooperation highlights in the fields of infrastructure, green energy, and green finance.

Fifth, we all hope that the post-COVID world should be interconnected for win-win cooperation, which supports the cross-border flows of goods and people, and supports countries in continuing to promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation.

Sixth, we all believe that we must accelerate the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. We are all supporters and practitioners of multilateralism advocated by the United Nations. Today's meeting itself is a multilateral cooperation meeting, which embodies the spirit of multilateralism.
