Notice on applying for consular legalization via the Chinese Visa Application Service Centers in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City

To facilitate people-to-people exchanges between China and Vietnam and provide greater convenience and comfort in the application of consular certificates, the Chinese Visa Application Service Centers in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City (referred to as "the Visa Centers" hereinafter) will start providing services for the application of consular legalization certificates from 1st March, 2023. The Embassy/Consulate hereby notifies that:

1. From 20 to 28 February, 2023, the Visa Centers will start trial operation for the application of consular legalization certificates. During this period, applicants can submit consular legalization application to the Visa Centers or the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in Vietnam. If applying at the Visa Centers during this period, it will be free of service fees. The Visa Centers in Hanoi and Da Nang accept documents certified by the Consular Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, The Ho Chi Minh City Visa Center accepts documents certified by the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City. From 1st March, 2023, the Visa Centers will officially accept consular legalization applications, the Chinese Embassy/Consulate will stop accepting the consular legalization applications. The Chinese Embassy/Consulate will continue to accept applications for notarization, Chinese passports, and Chinese travel documents.

2. The Visa Centers collect consular legalization application fees and expedition fees for the Chinese Embassy/Consulate, and service fees for themselves. Applicants can choose VIP services. For more information on services and charges, please consult the Visa Centers.

3. The Visa Centers are not involved in consular legalization approval. Consular officers of the Chinese Embassy/Consulate will determine whether to issue a consular legalization certificate based on the applicant's specific situation. Consular officers can request other certificates and documents from the applicant, or an interview with the applicant accordingly.

4. Except for the Visa Centers, the Chinese Embassy/Consulate has not authorized other institutions or individuals to provide consular certificate services. Applicants are advised to treat relevant information with caution.
