Q: According to reports, over 200 Chinese students are stuck in Ethiopia. Do you know their current situation?

A: Due to flight adjustment, some Chinese students got stranded on March 30 in Ethiopia while waiting for transfer flights to China. Upon learning about the situation, the CPC and the Chinese government attached high importance to the issue and asked all the staff of our Ethiopian embassy to immediately go to the airport and offer assistance and consular protection to the stranded students. The embassy also worked tirelessly to coordinate with Ethiopian Airlines executives to make proper arrangement with regard to food, accommodation and other necessities for stranded passengers. After emergency coordination by relevant Chinese departments and civil aviation authorities, all the students stranded in Ethiopia have got back home safe and sound by extra flight.
